<p>The shaft converts rotary movement into reciprocating ones at different times, being particularly in the form of a crank- or camshaft for an internal-combustion engine. It is made from a tubular body (1) expanded by internal pressure to the desired shape, the internal contours corresponding to the external ones (2,3) and running parallel to each other. All bearings, cams and eccentrics are hollow. A centring groove (5) can be pressed into one or both ends of the body, and tolerances to within 0.6mm. can be achieved without subsequent machining.</p> |
