PURPOSE:To enable removal of restriction on designing, especially permitting miniaturization of a watch, by preventing the skipping of time indication hands with locking of a rotor using a brake pulse. CONSTITUTION:A rotor starts to rotate due to an impact or the like except during the driving to generate an induced voltage in a drive coil 100 and a current flows in the direction of the arrow 1. The voltage drops lower at the point b than a reference voltage at the point c due to an internal resistance of a transistor 72. This drop in the voltage is compared with a comparator C1 to detect. With this detection, a fixed brake pulse is generated by FFs1-3. The length of the pulse is set at a fixed value by clock f3. With the passage of the brake pulse through gates 7 and 11, a transistor 71 is turned OFF and a transistor 73 is turned ON and a current flows in the direction of the arrow 1 to check the rotation of the rotor thereby preventing the skipping of time indication hand. |
