A separator is disclosed for light materials contained in waste water, the housing (1) of which separator carries ineradicable labelling (4) for stating the maximally permitted throughflow. The labelling (4) is arranged in such a way that it can easily be read off from the top when the separator cover is opened, that is even when the housing (1) is installed to a frost-protected depth and carries an attachment for mounting the cover flush with the ground. <IMAGE>
