Firearms and firing apparatuses, as well as equipment which is comparable thereto, must be protected against misuse. It has been found that this is impossible just by locking up the equipment or the associated ammunition. It is thus proposed according to the invention to insert a fixing element into the path of the respective firing elements or safety elements, so that the equipment cannot be released, and to lock it in this position, or to cover these firing elements etc. by a housing and to lock the housing, in turn, by means of a lock. Even if such an equipment then comes into the hands of people who are unauthorised to use it, the release of the equipment and the firing of the weapon are impossible. <IMAGE>
