Security device on plastic credit cards

A security device on plastic credit cards is provided which is intended for credit card systems with an electronic microchip integrated into the card. According to Figure 1, the security device consists of a strip-shaped reinforcement (5, 6) on at least one longitudinal edge of the plastic card (2), on which the usual fields of lettering (3) and a moulded-in microchip (4) are provided. The card (1), the edge of which is reinforced in this manner, exhibits in the reinforcement itself at least one hole (7) or an edge recess (8) via which the card can be locked by friction but preferably positively to the drawing-in device of a card reader.
