The transformer comprises a primary piezoelectric transducer (3) mechanically coupled to a secondary piezoelectric transducer (6). The primary transducer (3) is made from a mineral piezoelectric material and the secondary transducer (6) is made from a piezoelectric polymer. The mechanical coupling between the piezoelectric transducers (3,6) can be made, for example, by a lever (5). The mechanical stress applied to the secondary piezoelectric transducer results from a deformation of the primary piezoelectric transducer. This deformation can be transverse or parallel to the inducing electrical field. Electrodes (7,12) charged by the electrical field induced into the secondary transducer (6) can be parallel or normal to the deformation of the polymer.
