PURPOSE:To reduce the total amount of reactors to be incorporated in a power source by commonly using a reactor for a reactor starter and a reactor for countermeasure for harmonics. CONSTITUTION:After a power source breaker MCCA and a wiring breaker MCCB are closed at the normal time, an electromagnetic contactor 52H is first closed. Then, a contactor 52 is closed. A motor IM is operated at a variable speed by the operation of an inverter 2. The contactors 52, 52H are opened at the time of operating the inverter 2, and a contactor 6 is closed. Thus, the motor IM is started as a reactor. When the reactor operation is completed, the contactor 42 is closed, thereby opening the contactor 6. Then, the motor IM is connected directly to an AC power source 1. When the contactor 52H is closed, a harmonic wave reducing condenser C is connected to the intermediate tap or a suitable position of the reactor L1 of the reactor starter. |
