Beam and prop support system soffit for suspended floor - uses demountable round hollow prop head with ramped and curved bore groove receiving prop pin

The falsework system supports the soffit forms (5) for e.g. suspended concrete floors, using beams (3) mounted on vertical posts with demountable heads (4). Stop pins (8) are built onto the props (1), serving to lock the heads (4) at the required height. Each head is of a hollow cylindrical form (6), and includes a longitudinally curved bore groove. A primary groove section forms a slideway limited by a ramp which is sharply inclined to the horizontal, and a secondary groove section forms a locking zone limited by a ramp at a nominal inclination to the horizontal. The head may include two grooves disposed symmetrically w.r.t. the head axis, and each locking zone may locate a pin.
