<p>The joint contains a supple rod surrounded by a braided metallic jacket. At least one supple strip covers part of the surface of this jacket and is glued on it. The joint can resist high forces and is adapted to very difficult conditions of use including the filtering of the electromagnetic pulse generated by a nuclear explosion. The supple rod is preferably made from elastomer, esp. neoprene, the braid from tinned copper and the strips from a dielectric elastomer, e.g. rubber.</p> |
