PURPOSE:To perform overall shading compensation, by applying a picture input signal and a compensation signal to a modulator, and providing a characteristic inverted to a shading characteristic to a picture input signal. CONSTITUTION:An output of a photodetector receiving rester image pictured on a cathode ray tube 1 with a standard signal is stored in memories 12a-12c in advance as a shading compensation signal of the CRT1, the compensation signal stored in the memories 12a-12c is read out via a selection switch 13, this is applied to modulators 17a-17c together with the picture input signal to modulate the picture input signal so that the signal receives a characteristic inverted to the shading characteristic of the CRT1, the picture input signal thus modulated is applied to a luminance modulation terminal of the CRT1 to compensated shading. |
