PURPOSE:To detect Staphylococcus aureus, easily, in a short time, by using a detection paper containing a tellurous acid salt, lithium chloride, glycine, sodium pyruvate, sodium succinate, etc. in the cultivation component of the detection paper. CONSTITUTION:A tellurous acid salt, lithium chloride, glycine, sodium pyruvate, sodium succinate, etc. are added to the cultivation component for a detection paper (paper medium), and the mixture is impregnated into the detection paper. Pathogenic staphylococcus has strong resistance to tellurous acid salts and reduces the salts to form a black reaction product. Taking advantage of the above properties, the staphylococcus can be selected by the aid of the formed black colony. The detection can be carried out easily, with simple treatment, in a shortened time, and a better result can be obtained by this process. |
