In a high frequency heating apparatus a thermistor 29 in probe 9 detects the internal temperature of an object 2 contained in a heating chamber 3 in order to control its heating. The resistance change of the thermistor is converted into a change of the oscillation frequency of an oscillator 31 and transmitted ultrasonically to receiver 12. The power supply for the transmitter circuit 33 is provided in such a manner that the high frequency signal for heating the object is received by an antenna and rectified by a diode.
