PURPOSE:To improve the driving efficiency of the step motor with respect to a power source and to implement both step shaped driving and linear driving selectively, by providing switching transistors, an ROM, and a selecting means. CONSTITUTION:A phase A driver circuit 29A and an inverted phase A driver circuit 31A output the signal for conducting the switching transistors 22A and 24A to output terminal O1, O2 only when high level signals are inputted to the two input terminals of said driver circuits. Motor clock pulses 41 are inputted to a hexadecimal counter 42 from a motor clock terminal 39. The addresses in the ROM32 are specified by binary coded numbers 43 outputted from output terminals A-D of the counter 42 and an excitation switching signal 45 inputted from a excitation system switching terminal 44. The exciting current of an exciting coil 21A is changed in two steps or four steps correspondingly, and the step motor is driven. |
