PURPOSE:To increase capacity and decrease internal resistance and self-discharge of a battery by using graphite intercalation compouds made of graphite filament produced by utilizing plasma as negative and positive active masses. CONSTITUTION:A negative active mass 5 is made by intercalating an alkali metal or its alloy in a graphite filament produced by utilizing plasma, and a positive mass 8 is made by intercalating electron attractive substances. These active masses 5 and 8 are bonded on the separate metal substrates 4 and 9, and solid electrolytes such as Li3N 6 and 7 are deposited on each of filament sides and these deposited surfaces are stacked. They are inserted in a metal can 11 which their inside is coated with an insulating resin 10, and a metal cover 3 is welded or soldered. The can 11 acts as a positive terminal, and the space between the positive can 11 and a negative lead 1 are sealed with an insulating resin 2 to form a secondary battery. |
