PURPOSE:To properly control the amount of dampening water and that of ink to be supplied to a plate by controlling the number of revolution of the water fountain roller of the dampening system of a press and that of the ink fountain roller of the inking system of the press in preportion to the ratio of area of picture pattern on the plate. CONSTITUTION:At first, the amount of ink to be supplied to a plate 18 is controlled by controlling the number of revolution of an ink fountain roller 11, and the ratio of area of picture pattern is calculated by a device 1 for measuring the ratio of area of picture pattern and its measured data are sent out to a magnetic card. The data of this card are given to a controller 3 for controlling ink and dampening water, which, in turn, generates signals for controlling ink and dampening water. Part of these signals enters an ink fountain roller speed control circuit 5 and causes a motor 8 to operate and it controls the revolving speed of the ink fountain roller 11 and the thickness of ink film is controlled. Dampening water control signals from the device 3 enter a water fountain roller speed control circuit 6 and cause a motor 9 to operate, and it controls the revolving speed of a water fountain roller 17 and the amount of dampening water to be supplied to the plate 18 from a water fountain 19 is controlled. |
