PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-sensitive copying method by which an easily visible copied image can be obtained and in which any base can be used, by a method wherein the base side of a heat-sensitive recording material having a highly heat-sensitive color producing layer and a thickness of not larger than 50 is brought into close contact with an original, and is irradiated with infrared light from the color producing layer side. CONSTITUTION:The heat-sensitive color producing layer 12' comprising a well- known leuco dye, an acidic substance and a binder as main constituents and capable of producing a color with a color density of not lower than 0.9 under energy of not more than 1.2mJ is provided on the base 11 such as an ordinary paper or a tissue paper to obtain the heat-sensitive copying material 1' having a thickness of not larger than 50mu. The base 11 side of the copying material 1' is brought into close contact with the original 2, and infrared light (a) is irradiated from the copying material 1' side. As a result, an image part 21 of the original 2 is heated, and the heat is transmitted to the heat-sensitive color producing layer 12' through the base 11 to produce a copied image 21' corresponding to the original image 21. The copied image 21' appears as a normal image when viewed from the front side. |
