PURPOSE:To facilitate effecive utilization of installation space through miniaturization by providing a column enclosing almost the rear semicircle of the index table on the base block, and installing a pair of vertical type machining units at left and right of the column. CONSTITUTION:A vertical column 12 is projected on the base block 1 enclosing approximately the rear semecircle of a table 2 with a pair of installation faces 13, 13 with their front surfaces facing inwardly each other. A pair of machining units 9, 9 provided with cutter holders 10 are installed on the installation faces 13, 13 slidably in vertical direction. Two installation faces 13, 13 of the column 12 are arranged in appoximately V-shape. By means of the operation of the index table 2, each piece of work 3 is successively introduced to each of 2 right and left machining positions 5, 5 and is consecutively machined by each unit 9, 9 from above and then moved forward to the non-work positin 6 where completed piece of work is replaced with a new one, being followed by repetition of the same process. |
