In a domestic oven two radiation sources for infra-red radiation are arranged, an upper one (23-25) placed at the top wall (13) of the oven and a lower one (21) at the bottom wall (14) of the oven. The upper radiation source (23-25) is constituted by at least one radiation element of quartz-tube type, which emits IR-radiation in the wavelength range of 1,0-1,4 mu m. The lower radiation source (21) on the other hand is constituted by a meander-formed tube element which emits long-wave IR-radiation in the wavelength range of 3-6 mu m. The radiation from the upper radiation source (23-25) heats the interior of a load (18), for example a frozen, precooked food portion, placed between the radiation sources, whereas the radiation from the lower radiation source (21) heats a vessel (19) for the load, from which heat is transferred to the load by convection. |
