PURPOSE:To continously feed a sheet, by stably and surely cutting an old sheet with a swing type cutter of simple constitution while stably gluing a new sheet for the old sheet in a fixed overlapped length throughout a total width. CONSTITUTION:When a old sheet of paper 6 is fed from a reel 5 via an automatic connecting device main unit 9 and the paper 6 in the reel 5 is fed out below a prescribed quantity, firstly a new sheet of paper 8 is drawn out from a reel 7, rolled around a guide roll 15 and suction pipe 25, coated to a suction table 24 in a position as shown in the drawing, here attracted and held. Then after cutting to align a point end of the paper 8 along a groove 26 in an end of the table 24 by a cutter or the like, a both-side adhesive tape is glued onto the paper throughout the total width, and then the table 24 is turned to a standby position. Then in the timing of paper connection, running motion of the paper 6 is substantially stopped to cut the paper 6 by a cutter 22, and then the table 24 is tuned to adhesively connect the both papers 6, 8. |
