PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device capable of efficiently forming a clear edge at a light-emitting part and further efficiently form a clear edge of a light projection pattern on a light projection surface, and to provide a vehicular head lamp and a luminaire.SOLUTION: A head lamp 1 includes a laser chip 11 for emitting excitation light, a light-emitting part 4 containing a phosphor, and an optical rod 13A. The head lamp guides the excitation light emitted from the laser chip 11 to the optical rod 13A, and irradiates the light-emitting part 4 with emission light from the optical rod 13A. In a light intensity distribution of emission light irradiated to the light-emitting part 4, substantially horizontal light-dark contrast is contained. The substantially horizontal light-dark contrast exists in an area inside the contour of the light-emitting part 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
