PURPOSE:To separate unnecessary toner effectively by dividing conveyance paths for developer being carried before and after development into plural thin layers, and allowing an electric field to operate on the developer and separating the toner to be removed. CONSTITUTION:A white circle in the 2nd developing section 7 of a dichromatic developing device shown in a figure indicates the 1st toner 5 which enters therein by being mixed and has the minus polarity, and the toner is carried on the surface of a sleeve 11 incorporating a magnetic roll together with toner 8 with has the plus polarity and is shown by black dots in the developing section 7 and the developer to develop an electrostatic latent image on the surface of a recording body 1; and the toner is scraped by a scraper 13 after the development. Then, a grounded electrode plate 14 and a separating electrode 16 facing oppositely to it are provided on the extension of the scraper 13. The 1st toner 5 in the developer 9 which flows down on an electrode plate 14 in a thin layer is attracted by the separating electrode 16 and stored separately in a container 18, and the 2nd toner 8 is returned as it is to the developing section 7. |
