PURPOSE:To speed up processing of a silver halide photosensitive material by imagewise exposing it having silver halide emulsion layer contg. a specified phenol type cyan coupler, color developing, and bleach fixing it. CONSTITUTION:The phenolic cyan coupler has at the 2-position a phenylureido group having at least one cyano group at the ortho or meta position, at the 4- position hydrogen or a group releasable upon coupling reaction with the oxidized product of a color developing agent, and at the 5-position an acylamino group. A silver halide photosensitive material having a silver halide emulsion layer on a support is processed through an imagewise exposure step, a color developing step, and a bleach fixing step. At the usable cyan coupler, a compd. represented by the formula in which X is O, S; R2 is 1-20C straight or branched chain alkylene; R3 is halogen, a monovalent org. group, aryl, or the like is preferable. |
