A miniature type of pressure meter designed to measure the pressure of fission gases that have been released in the inside of a nuclear fuel element. The pressure meter has the fundamental properties to keep both its calibration and sensitivity unaffected even after long-term exposure to radiation.The pressure meter is composed of a cylindrical metal vessel with two copper plugs (4, 11) and containing two metal bellows (5), a movable plate (8) inserted between these, a magnetic core (9) connected to this plate and two springs (6), which, when stressed, rest against each side of the plate, and at the opposite end, against the upper or lower plug, and a differential transformer (18) (fig. 2a, 2b).<IMAGE> |
