PURPOSE:To obtain the catalyst having an excellent catalytic effect, by mixing fine-grained silica gel having an average particle size below 200mu in an aqueous solution containing an amine complex of copper, and reducing the obtd. copper- contg. silica gel. CONSTITUTION:Conc. aqueous ammonia is added to a copper ion-contg. aqueous solution formed by dissolving cuppric nitrate, for instance, in water, until a pH of the system becomes higher than about 10, pref. about 10-12. Fine-grained silica gel having an average particle size below 200mu is added to the obtd. dark blue aqueous solution, and both of them are sufficiently mixed and made contact with each other by agitation. Said mixing is executed pref. at a temp. of 40- 100 deg.C under atmospheric or higher pressure. The obtd. copper-contg. silica gel is reduced pref. at a temp. of 200-400 deg.C in the presence of hydrogen. |
