PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module that can facilitate an assembly work and that is suitable for high-speed transmission.SOLUTION: An optical module comprises: a first circuit board 2 provided with a first electrical connection terminal 2c and a first electric connector 2d; an optical sub assembly 1 that has a second circuit board 4 whose one end part is inserted into a housing 7 and whose the other end part is arranged outside the housing 7, and in which a second electrical connection terminal 4a and a second electric connector 4b are provided at the other end part; a first flexible substrate 5 solder-connected with the first electrical connection terminal 2c and the second electrical connection terminal 4a and that comprises an impedance line for high-speed transmission; and a second flexible substrate 6 connector-connected with the first electric connector 2d and the second electric connector 4b. Between both circuit boards 2 and 4, a high-speed electric signal having a frequency equal to or more than 1 GHz is transmitted via the first flexible substrate 5, and a power supply signal and a low-speed electric signal having a frequency equal to or less than 1 MHz and including a DC signal are transmitted via the second flexible substrate 6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
