PURPOSE:To subject cloth to transfer printing and, at the same time, to make it possible to apply an embossed pattern thereto, in transfer paper having a protecting varnish layer on the printing layer thereof, by providing an embossed pattern having height difference of 0.5mm. or more. CONSTITUTION:On paper 1 with a wt. of 40-120g/m<2> and a thickness of 0.02- 0.4mm. obtained from kraft pulp or ground pulp according to a papermaking process, a protecting layer comprising sodium alginate, polyvinyl alcohol or the like is provided according to necessity and, thereafter, a printing layer 2 comprising mixture of dye and a binder or a pigment and the binder is provided by gravure printing or offset printing and a varnish liquid is further coated to form a protecting varnish layer 3. A roll engraved with an embossed pattern is pressed to thus obtained transfer paper prior to forming the printing layer 2 or posterior to forming the protecting varnish layer 3 to impart an embossed pattern of which the height difference (a) or (b) is 0.5mm. or more. |
