PURPOSE:To cut easily strong and tough swarf such as iron and steel swarf, by compressing the swarf, etc. of iron and steel products with plural pairs of rolls then cutting the same. CONSTITUTION:Strong and tough swarf such as swarf of iron and steel products is beforehand lumped A, and is charged by a conveyor 90 into a hopper 11, where the swarf is compressed between a pair of compression rolls 1 and 1. Many small ridge lines 13 and small projected pieces 14 are provided on the surface of the rolls 1, 1 along the axial line to gnaw surely the lumps A into the spacing between the rolls 1 and 1. The swarf lumps compressed with the rolls 1, 1 are further compressed to smaller sizes by the 2nd stage of compression rolls 2, 2 disposed thereunder. The rolls 2 have many small projecting ridge lines 20 and small projected pieces 21 as well to assure the gnawing of the swarf lumps into the rolls 2, 2. The swarf lumps emerging from the rolls 2, 2 are cut to small pieces by a cutting blade 3 consisting of a stationary blade 30 and a moving blade 31. The cut pieces of the swarf are recovered into a lower hopper 4. |
