PURPOSE:To recognize clearly a KANA (Japanese syllabary) character string to be converted into KANJI (Chinese character) by an operator, by displaying said KANA character string after an existing display and at the same time displaying a bar under the KANA character string. CONSTITUTION:When KANJI data is supplied, a KANA character string corresponding to a KANJI character train is fed by means of a KANA key 10. Thus a CPU4 displays the KANA character string to a display part 5 in accordance with keying of the key 10. In this case, a cursor 6 under the KANA string glows in response to a cursor control program 13, and a cursor 6 corresponding to the next display of the last input character of the KANA character string corresponding to KANJI is lit up. Then a KANA/KANJI conversion key among function keys 3 is pushed, a desired KANJI character string is displayed at the part 5. At the same time, the cursor 6 is turned off, and a cursor 6 corresponding to the next display position of the KANJI character train is lit up. As a result, an operator can recognize clearly a KANA character string to be converted into KANJI. |
