PURPOSE:To provide a sililating agent for the silylation of a compound constaining OH group or COOH group without producing HCl, and capable of silylating a polyhydric alcohol without polymerization, by using di-t-butylsilane as an active component. CONSTITUTION:The objective silylating agent contains di-tert-butylsilane as an active comonent. A hydroxy compound can be silylated with the agent preferably in the presence of an alkoxide as a catalyst. EFFECT:Since there is no production of salt, the purification of the silylation reaction product and the recovery of the unreacted hydroxy compound or carboxylic acid can be carried out easily. |
