PURPOSE:To prevent residual toner from scattering out of a cleaning device by providing a seal material to seal the gap between the rear end part of the rubber blade of the cleaning device and the internal surface of a casing. CONSTITUTION:The front end of the seal member 8 abuts on a blade 5 slantingly, so even when the blade 5 is displaced to contact or leave a photosensitive drum 1, the seal member 8 deforms easily by its elasticity and its front end is pressed lightly against the reverse surface of the blade 5 all the time, so the sealing state is maintained. Therefore, the residual toner removed from the surface of the photosensitive drum 1 by a cleaning brush 4 and a cleaning blade 5 is prevented securely during copying operation from scattering out of the cleaning device through the gap between the rear end of the blade 5 and the internal surface of the casing 3 and the gap between the upper edge of the casing 3 and the circumferential surface of the photosensitive drum 1, so that the toner is all discharged from the cleaning device by a discharging means 6. |
