PURPOSE:To obtain a clear multicolor recording free from restriction by a formed color tone by employing the combination of a color erasing agent and a developer while the developer is selected a varied in the color erasing effect given by the color erasing agent. CONSTITUTION:In a multicolor thermal recording material having at least two thermal color forming layers which form colors in varied tones containing a leuco dye and a developer thereof, a color erasing agent having a color erasion effect for a color forming reaction between the leuco dye and the developer is contained in at least one of the thermal color forming layers or interposed between the thermal color forming layers as a color erasing agent layer while the developer contained in the thermal color forming layers is used as varied in the color erasion effect given by the color erasing agent. This causes the developer to control the color erasion effect of the color erasing agent and hence, the quality required for the developer is only how the color erasion effect can be differentiated, free from any restriction by a formed color tone. Thus, color forming components can be selected freely thereby facilitating the production of a clear multicolor recording. |
