The invention relates to a device for the greasing of at least one material web exposed to deformation, in particular of a sheet-metal web (1) to be fed to a press (3), with at least one grease-transferring perforated and hollow grease roller (4) which has a permeable outer casing and which is arranged transversely to the web running direction and is connected to a greasing-pressure source. At the same time, the grease roller is made subdivided in the axial longitudinal direction, and each part roller can be pressed controllably against the web and can be fed individually with grease. This results in a controlled greasing of the sheet-metal layer at the point at which processing takes place. <IMAGE>
