An electrical connector (Figure 2c) for use with printed circuit boards comprises a connecting member 22 having a multiway flexible circuit wrapped around a solid cylinder of resilient material disposed in a cavity 21 of a housing 20 into which a slot 25 extends from externally of the housing. The connector is bolted to a surface of a printed circuit board with the ways of the flexible circuit aligned with respective ways on the board through the entry 21a to the cavity 21 and a daughter board, or a terminated multi-way tape cable, with corresponding ways is inserted through the slot 25. The resilience and precise positioning of the member 22 which bears resiliently on both sets of ways ensures positive and accurate interconnection. A termination for tape cable is also disclosed (Figure 5) and involves bending a stripped portion of cable around a support 40 and inserting in a clamp 41. <IMAGE> |
