PURPOSE:To prevent a developer cartridge from being inserted into a different developing device by mistake by arranging the 1st and the 2nd projections so that part of the 1st projection and the 2nd projection are at different positions in the insertion direction of the developer storage container. CONSTITUTION:Two projections 35 and 36 of the developer cartridge 34 which contains a developer in, for example, sepia color are provided to the flange 34c of the rear end part of the cartridge at positions which are different in the insertion directions B of the cartridge. When the cartridge is inserted into the developing device with its opening 34d up, the positioning projection 35 and color discriminating projection 36 engage with recessed parts 24'' and 25' of a cover 23. Consequently, the developer cartridge is prevented from being inserted into an improper developing device by mistake. |
