The present invention relates to novel alkylene(cycloalkylene)-bis-heterocyclyl-biguanides of the formula (I) <IMAGE> in which A and B represent heterocyclic radicals which are linked via nitrogen and which can optionally be substituted, R represents optionally alkyl-substituted cycloalkylene or alkylene, it being possible for the alkylene chain to be interrupted once or more than once by oxygen atoms, sulphur atoms, the group NR<3>, or by cycloalkylene, bicycloalkylene or tricycloalkylene groups, each of which is optionally mono- or polysubstituted by alkyl, R<1> and R<2> represent hydrogen, alkyl or optionally substituted aralkyl, or together with the alkylene radical and the nitrogen atoms form a heterocyclic ring and R<3> represents hydrogen, alkyl or optionally substituted aralkyl. The compounds according to the invention have crop-protecting activity.
