PURPOSE:To attain ease of recording, reproduction and erase by controlling the displacement of an inclined track of a video signal recorded on a tape running in an optional speed so as to make a reproducing rotary head run on the track. CONSTITUTION:In rewriting a part of a recorded tape by a new video signal, a movable contact (m) of switches SW1-SW3 is switched to a fixed point P of the reproducing side so as to establish the reproducing mode, and the video signal to be rewritten is decided by reproducing sequentially still picture in the units of frames from the video signal on the recorded tape. Then, while stopping the running of the tape 1, the contact (m) is switched to a recording side fixed contact (r) so as to establish the recording mode, then the video signal for one frame's share is erased and recorded. Moreover, in recording signals with rewrite, the video signal from a processing circuit 15 based on the data detected by a detecting circuit 39 is selected by a unit of fields. |
