The master brake cylinder (10) is set under a large fluid reservoir (12) which is also connected to the steering servo pump (16). This has a line (19) which feeds a pressure reservoir (11) to boost the brake servo, and has the steering return line feeding back into the pump. Only one fluid reservoir is used, with no danger of mixing brake- and steering fluids. A single pump provides a low cost construction and reliable operation.
