The code lock has a blocking strip (17) for each digit of the code. All the blocking strips (17) are guided in a grooved plate (14.2). Each blocking strip (17) is connected to a code strip (15) by means of a setscrew (17.3) which, in the code position, is accessible through a hole in a lock plate (14.8) covering the lock case (14) on the inside. The code strips (15) are guided up against the grooved plate (14.2) between detent strips (16) arranged in the plane of the code strips (15). Each code strip (15) has a recess (15.1) for receiving a web (13.2) which passes through the door (11) of the safe and which belongs to a number slide (13.1) actuable from outside along a slot. In the code lock, the setting mechanism is actuated by means of the longitudinal movement of the number slides (13.1), and the locking mechanism by means of the rotational movement of a bolt knob. <IMAGE>
