摘要 An individual discharge electrode in the form of a tungsten wire and two opposing electrodes in the form of flat plates composed of conductive material form a corona discharge generator which is arranged in an electro-photographic copier with a heat-generating unit. The plate electrodes are located opposite the wire electrode in a predetermined orientation relationship. If a bias voltage is applied to the wire electrode, an ion wind is produced by means of a corona discharge, which ion wind is directed from the wire electrode to the plate electrodes. The ion wind develops an air flow which is used to cool the heat-generating unit and other components, while dust which exists in the interior of the apparatus is driven out. The two plate electrodes are connected to earth or, however, one of them is connected to earth, and a bias voltage is applied to the other, which bias voltage has a polarity which opposes the voltage which is applied to the wire electrode. Dust floating in the interior of the apparatus is caught by the plate electrodes by attraction.
