PURPOSE:To detect a shortage of ink and to generate a warning for it by detecting whether recording information is present or not by a photoelectric element which moves synchronizing with an ink pen. CONSTITUTION:The photoelectric element 3 united with the ink pen 1 which moves at right angles to the moving direction of a continuous form 2 according to recording information moves synchronizing with the pen 1. This element 3 reads recording information on the form 2 and a differential amplifier 4 does not generates an ink color detection output when the ceasing of information due to an shortage of ink is detected. Consequently, the output of an FF6 is inverted and an output signal generation part 7 is driven to generate the warning. Thus, the ink shortage is detected and the warning is generated to annunciate the ink shortage. |
