The present invention relates to an improvement to prefabricated timber groynes, intended in particular for protecting and building up beaches. The groyne, according to the invention, comprises at least one movable anchoring device consisting of a platform 6 designed to receive loads 15 made up of stones or concrete blocks; this platform is mounted so as to pivot about a substantially horizontal axis at the ends of the cross pieces 4 and 5 for positioning the posts; it is extended perpendicularly by a frame 11 at the centre of which there is installed, in a longitudinal manner, a chain 14 for holding the loads 15, when the platform pivots under the effect of erosion. <IMAGE>
