PURPOSE:To measure the weights and the number of articles on many racks instantaneously and to implement quick warehouse management in which many commodities, parts, or the like are accommodated, by detecting the change in permittivity of sheet shaped dielectrics due to the weights of the articles as the change in electrostatic capacity between two metal plates, measuring the total weight of the articles on the rack plate from the value of the electrostatic capacity, and displaying the result. CONSTITUTION:An article rack device A is constituted of a plurality of rack plates 1 and supporting posts 2, which support the rack plates so as to have multiple-stage racks. The rack plate is constituted of a sheet shaped dielectric 3 comprising an elastic macromolecular material and two metal plates 4 and 5, which hold the dielectric. The sheet shaped dielectric 3 comprises the elastic macromolecular material such as silicone rubber, polyurethane, synthetic rubber, or a sheet shaped material obtained by mixing the above described material and carbon powder and the like. The lower metal plate 4 of the two metal plates 4 and 5 is fixed to the supporting posts 2. The upper metal plate 5 is bonded and fixed to the dielectric 3. When the articles are mounted on the upper metal plate 5, the sheet shaped dielectric 3 is compressed by the load. Weight W is measured from the electrostatic capacity C at the time the sheet shaped dielectric 3 is held by the two metal plates 4 and 5. |
