PURPOSE:To ensure excellent vibrative and acoustic absorptivity of a pad material and its cutwater property while enable its weight to be decreased, by using an Fe-radical sintered alloy, containing Cr of specific composition, for the pad material further providing a void of specific ratio. CONSTITUTION:A pad material secured to the friction surface of a disc main unit is composed of 5-30% Cr by weight and the rest of Fe, while formed by an Fe-radical sintered alloy having 5-35% void ratio. The ingredient of Cr improves corrosion and oxidation resistance, but if its content is less than 5%, a desired effect can not be obtained, on the contrary even if the content exceeds 30%, the action is saturated. Existence of a void in the pad material not only enables its weight to be decreased but also ensures its excellent vibrative and acoustic absorptivity and cutwater preperty, but if void ratio is less than 5%, the pad material is not desirably improved, while if the ratio exceeds 35%, its strength is remarkably decreased further its wearing resistance is also deteriorated. |
