<p>PURPOSE:To attain stable tracking control by decreasing automatically variation of at least one of levels being a reproducing level of a pilot signal or addition of reproducing levels of the pilot signal recorded on both adjacent tracks so as to decrease the variation in the loop gain of a tracking control system. CONSTITUTION:A signal reproduced by video heads 5, 6 from a tape 1 is fed to an amplifier 19 via a rotary transformer 12 and amplified, and transmitted to a tracking error detecting circuit 22 via a low pass filter 21. A high frequency video signal from a reproduced signal RF is eliminated by a band pass filter 21 and only the pilot signal PL is extracted separately. A tracking error signal TR is formed from the pilot signal PL by the tracking error detecting circuit 22. The running phase of the tape 1 is controlled in response to the tracking error signal TR and the tracking control is attained so that video heads 5, 6 scan correctly the video track.</p> |
