PURPOSE:To enable water to be completely removed from a zinc can by putting an elementary cell into and taking it out of a warm water bath and a cooling bath using a conduit-like case having a U-shaped cross section and is provided with two or more projections on its bottom surface in gelatinizing the electrolyte of a gelatinized dry cell. CONSTITUTION:An elementary cell 1 for a gelatinized dry cell is put into and taken out of a warm water bath and a cooling bath by use of a conduit-like case 3 to gelatinize the electrolyte of the cell 1. The case 3 has a U-shaped cross section, is provided with two parallel projections 7 protruding upward along the longitudinal direction on the inner surface 4 of its bottom, and has an arbitrary number of penetrating holes 8 arranged in zig-zag form in the areas other than those of the projections 7. As a result, since a space 9 is allowed between the bottom surface 1-1 of a zinc can and the projections 7, warm water is homogeneously circulated during the gelatinization carried out in the warm water bath. Besides, water can be completely removed from the bottom surface 1-1 during the cooling process carried out in the cooling bath, thereby preventing any harmful effects such as corrosion of the bottom surface 1-1 which might be caused due to residual water. |
