Process for the preparation of crosslinked and foamed polyolefins

The invention relates to a process for increasing the production rate and reducing the processing temperature in the preparation of lightweight, crosslinked polyolefin foams using chemical blowing agents and optionally crosslinking agents, by shaping the mixture with the aid of an extruder and subsequently crosslinking and foaming the material. Addition of EVA is proposed. EVA is incorporated into the polyolefin structure and causes the desired increase in production effectiveness.
