A multi-track, straight rail system, for example in use in industrial assembly lines, has rails (4) which are arranged on the floor (1) and can be mounted directly on the floor of the works' hall or else on supports (2). Conveying wagons (9, 11, 12, 13) for holding loads (10) run on these rails (4), it being possible for these wagons to have three, four or more wheels (13). In each case a separate electric motor (15) whose power is supplied via contacting lines (8) serves as the drive element for these wagons. Guide rollers (14) ensure an additional lateral support of these wagons (9 to 13) on guide rims (7) of the guide rails (6). <IMAGE>
