Thermal insulation for nuclear power plant - made of fibre material enclosed in glass cloth with organic silicate finish

Removable thermal insulation, consists of temp.-resistant mineral or glass fibre encapsulated in asbestos-free glass cloth. The cloth can withstand repeated wetting. - The insulation is held in place by fastening strips with woven nylon mating hooks and loops. The cloth is finished with organic silicate in a fatty and mineral oil carrier. - The insulation is used on vessels and piping in a light or heavy water reactor. The insulation is readily removable and replaceable; can withstand repeated flooding by spray systems, and temps. up to 700 degrees F to 40 years; and is much lighter than metal encapsulated insulation.
