The invention relates to hot-water generators which make it possible to use in a common structure the combinations of electric energy and of fossil energy from gas or from fuel oil. This generator comprises in a common water reservoir 1 a combustion circuit 2, 3, 4 and a set of heating elements. An electric panel 8 integrated with the assembly controls 5 and programmes the two energy modes. Among the most important applications, mention can be made of the rationalisation of the costs and of the safety of heating premises of average and large volume. <IMAGE>
