PURPOSE:To prevent leak of gas by accommodating a fuel cell body into a case providing a manihold chamber for fuel gas and oxidation gas and providing a magnetic fluid seal to the area in contact with the cell body in the manihold chamber. CONSTITUTION:A fuel cell body 2 formed by stacking a plurality of single cells 3 is accommodated in a square cylinder type case 11 where the manihold chambers 17, 18 for supplying the fuel gas and oxidation gas are formed. The circular vertical grooves 11a are provided at four corners of case 11 in such a way that these are opening at the inside of case 11, a magnet 19 formed like a horse's hoof is inserted into such groove and magnetic fluid 20 is provided between the magnetic pole surface of magnet 19 and side surface cell body 2. Thereby, sealing between maniholds 17, 18 can be made. Accordingly, there are concaves and convexes at the side surface when the single cells 3 are stacked, accurate sealing can be ensured by migration of magnetic fluid 20 and thereby leak of gas can be effectively prevented. |
